Spoiler alert: After six obnoxiously long seasons, the fans of ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars” finally got to meet the elusive “A.”
So be forewarned, if you have not had the pleasure to witness A’s tell-all summer finale, stop reading here and come back after you have seen it.
Okay, so you’ve seen it. Then you must know the frustration and relief of the final episode of season six. If you have never seen it and just like a good read, let me quickly share the main plot of “Pretty Little Liars” (PLL).
PLL is about five girls that are being taunted, tortured and manipulated by a mysterious character named A. A calls the torture a game. The five girls are Aria Montgomery, Hanna Marion, Emily Fields, Alison DiLaurentis and Spencer Hastings.
One year before we are introduced to the girls, A has already began the game with Alison, causing her to fake her own death and try to run from the character.
The girls have to lie to everybody but each other, because A continuously threatens harm to the girls’ families and/or to tell secrets from their past if they tell anybody about the texts. In the latest season, we learn that A is actually a character named Charles.
So, now we are all caught up. Here come the spoilers from the Summer Finale… Cece is Charles, who was Alison and Jason DiLaurentis’s brother.
Cece dated Jason. Gross. She was also locked up in a psychiatric hospital, Radley Sanitarium. In Radley, Cece met Mona and used Mona’s drugged up mind to her advantage to know everything about the girls.
Cece was the one who initially attacked Alison. Alison was bashed in the head then buried by her mother in the front yard, before she ran away and pretended to be dead. Mona then killed Bethany Young, because Mona hated Alison so much. I know that sounds crazy and it is.
I was lucky enough to tweet as I watched the show, and the tweet that I tweeted more often than not was “I just… uh… like what? Ugh… what? Hmmm… this is what is happening in my head right now… @lucyhale #FAcetoface #pllchat.” That was getting tweeted all night.
After all the tweeting, I honestly had to sit in my living room and ponder the events that just occurred in front of me. Five years of my life were spent patiently waiting and watching the drama unravel before me.
Watching the short 30 second clips of A’s lair, and upcoming games, I was just hoping for a glimpse of A’s face. I was all kinds of excited to finally see A’s face.
Within the first 10 minutes of the episode we actually came face-to-face with the elusive mastermind who has plagued the girls and the fans for a long time.
However in the last five minutes the writers, producers, directors and creators gave us a sneak peek to the next season, which is set five years forward.
