The Stallion’s fall baseball season has finally kicked off; the team has played two double headers in the past week.
The first, on Sept.13, was against Andrew College. The Stallions dropped the opening game by a score of 4-2, but made a comeback in the second game and won big with a final score 13-0.
Outfielder Thad Glenn says he thinks this year’s team has a much greater chance at winning more games than in the previous years.
Glenn said, “The overall atmosphere of the whole team is better. Everyone got to start completely over this year with Coach Morgan.”
Their next double header occurred Tuesday, Sept. 17, at home against Middle Georgia State College. The Stallions swept the opposition, winning 9-1 in the first game and a 3-1 in the second.
“The pitching staff is a little stronger this year also. We didn’t have many guys in the rotation last season,” Glenn said. He added that pitching was a key part of winning games.
The team is now off to a 3-1 start. Their next game is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 25, at home against Gordon starting at 3 p.m.
