The Electric Sons traveled from Atlanta to stop by ABAC for the Battle of the Bands Sat. Oct. 26. The event was held as a fundraising opportunity for the ABAC radio station, WPLH. The Electric Sons came in second to the local competition, Tifton's own Align the Sky. Bands such as Dire, Poser and Wampus Creek also traveled from Cordele and other surrounding cities to compete in the event.
The Electric Sons released their self-titled debut EP in early 2012 and just ended a short tour sponsored by Red Bull. The band was featured on this year's line-up at Party in the Park where they shared the stage with names such as Ellie Goulding, Passion Pit and Yeasayer.
The sons have risen to success in just a little over a year by their exciting live performances and their critically aclaimed EP. With a blend of attractive harmonies and an essence of catchy electric grooves, The Electric Sons play easy-listening/ feel-good alternative electronic jams.
While visiting, The sons stopped by WPLH for an on-air performance. They are in the Their next show will be in Atlanta at Vinyl on Nov. 8. The Electric sons' music can be found on various places such as Spotify, itunes and Youtube.
Wampus Creek was also a fan favorite at the event. This metal band from Cordele opened to the show up to an eager audience.
Align the Sky won the fan vote for the night with a large local fanbase backing the metal band.
"It was the locals that came out and supported. I really appreciate the support from the locals," said Jamie Veal, lead guitarists for Align the Sky, "We have a lot of great local musicians. It's great to have people of all ages at our shows promoting the music scene."
Align the Sky has been together for a few years with a different changes in the line-up, but have now settled on the members which are former ABAC students. The band is in the process of planning a release show for the upcoming full length release scheduled for Jan.
This will be the first full length for the band which was produced and mixed by Jarrod Musselwhite who also played in Battle of the Bands as Poser's drummer.Their music can be found on youtube, reverbnation and their facebook page.
The Battle of the Bands will hopefully be the first of many shows, so be on the lookout for upcoming band appearances.
