Talented artists are everywhere on campus these days. One such artist is an Electronic Dance Music (or EDM for short) producer and DJ known as Sheepy. “I just have a passion for EDM,” Sheepy said.
Sheepy, a pharmacy major here at ABAC has four albums out already and says that he plans to release an EP in the future. “The EP will be more serious. It will tie everything together,” said Sheepy, “I have an event in the making, it will probably be something different like an EDM show.”
Sheepy isn’t hard to miss when he is on campus. Sheepy has been growing dreads for five years now using the neglect method. The “neglect method” is where a person does not comb their hair, causing it to dread naturally. This is the same method that Bob Marley used to achieve his dreadlocks.
Sheepy is well known for his EDM music but has experience with a wide variety of instruments. Sheepy’s music career began at the age of seven, when he started piano lessons. His music career continued in middle school when he played trumpet in the band.
He has since expanded into playing accordion, recorder and didgeridoo. “I just hear instruments and I want to play them. It becomes easier to pick up new instruments once you know a few, experience builds,” Sheepy said.
Sheepy has a interest in computers and is a fan of the Linux Open Source Operating system. He creates all his EDM music using the digital audio on the Linux Multi-Media software program.
