With only one double header left in their fall season, the Stallions baseball team is looking at a much better record than previous years. The coaches and players both seem to be extremely pleased with this year’s team and the progress they have made since August.
On Wednesday, Oct. 30, the team played a double header against Gordon College where they split the series. During the first game the Stallion’s bats came alive winning by a score of 9-7. However, Gordon’s pitching staff took over in the second game, handing ABAC a 5-1 loss.
Robert Nelson had this to say on what he thought was different between this year and last years team: “We have a better pitching staff, the coaches are more involved with us and getting better, and fielding and hitting are better… so pretty much everything.”
Nelson also added that the team has more unity this season, which allows them to play more as a team instead of individuals.
The team looks to kick off the spring season at home on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 against St. Johns River Community College.
